Zeitplan.io vs Float

Float is one of the best-known resource management tools, and for agencies that bill by the hour it is a strong choice. Zeitplan.io covers a narrower job, planning people onto projects by the day inside Microsoft Teams, for a few dollars per user.

Float plans people onto projects and tasks with hours per day, tracks time against the plan, forecasts utilization and budgets, and integrates with calendars and project management tools. It is a standalone web and mobile app with its own user accounts and a Microsoft Teams integration for notifications.

Choose Float if

  • you bill by the hour and need planned-vs-actual hours per project
  • you forecast utilization, budgets and hiring needs from the plan
  • your team isn’t on Microsoft 365, or you need the mobile apps

Choose Zeitplan.io if

  • your team lives in Microsoft Teams and you don’t want another login
  • whole days are precise enough, and you’d rather have a plan everyone actually keeps up to date
  • $2–3 per user is the budget, not $7–12

FAQ

Does Zeitplan.io track time?

No. Zeitplan.io plans days; it doesn’t record hours worked. The statistics page shows planned working days per project and per person, which is enough for many teams and not enough for hourly billing.

Can Zeitplan.io forecast utilization?

Not as a percentage. The year, month and week views show at a glance who is booked and who isn’t, and the statistics show assigned days per person. For utilization reports, read the data through the REST API into Power BI or Excel.

Does Zeitplan.io have mobile apps?

Zeitplan.io runs wherever Microsoft Teams runs, including the Teams mobile apps. It has no separate app of its own.
